Cheyenne’s journey from culinary school to farming is more than a career path; it’s a movement. Inspired by the food traditions of her grandmothers, she traded restaurant kitchens for community farms, determined to tackle food apartheid in the Historic Westside. As the Food Program Coordinator at Obodo Urban Farm, she’s growing fresh produce tailored to her neighbors’ tastes, offering it through pay-what-you-can markets, and fostering a deep connection between people and the land. Now, with the upcoming opening of The Obodo Grocery Store on February 22nd, her vision is expanding even further, bringing farm-fresh, locally sourced goods to the neighborhood. This isn’t just about food; it’s about reclaiming history, building community, and creating a future where fresh, nutritious meals are within everyone’s reach.
